How Repair Corrupt PST Using Scanpst.exe File

Step - 1)
Exit active Outlook that you are using.

Step 2)
Open file location from drive: \Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12, double click the Scanpst.exe and open it

Step 3)
Now, enter name of PST file that you want to scan. To search and upload the file click on Browse button

Step 4)
Click the Start button to initiate the scanning of uploaded PST file

Step 5) 
After completion of scanning process, it shows the existing error in file and gives the option to user to repair the file.

How the Scanpst.exe Validate and Corrects The Error

The PST file is the database file of Outlook and Internal Repair Tool that basically corrects and validates error in the database file. So, the Scanpst actually validates and corrects the internal data structure of .pst file. • On the other hand of validation succeeds then ScanPST use to do another analysis of recovered message in-order to check whether the recovered message is consistent with the table or not.
